Show Me My Month!

Hello! And Welcome to "My Life as a Movie"! "My Life as a Movie" is one of the projects that came out of an idle afternoon and a memory from a tough period of my life! I happen to journal quite a bit but it is very rarely that I will ever go back and read any of my journal entries. However, but it'd be so cool if I could maybe go back once every month or so and see how I've transitioned through the month. Was this month good? Do I sound happier than last month? Are my thoughts more mature than last year? That sounds like such a cool problem to solve. and as a Machine Learning Researcher and software engineering enthusiast, I wanted to try it, so this is a step in that direction! "My Life as a Movie" does one simple thing, in addition to the secure storage, editing and retrieval of journal entries, - It augments each of your personalized journal entries, asynchronously with applicable, generated imagery!

A fine-tuned and prompt engineered Flan T-5 Model deployed serverlessly on AWS helps provide applicable image prompts from large journal entries. The image prompts are served to Dall E-2 by AWS Lambda for image generation, which is finally extracted and stored within global S3 containers and served back to the customer through the website interface.

This is the second interation of this project. The original infrastructure used a custom diffusion model that was part of an inference pipeline hosted on a provisioned Sagemaker instance but it was too expensive to sustain, so I ended up outsourcing some models. Although there are still a few things that remain to be done - like add a feature for movie (video) generation - once a month using images from the past month and maybe generate monthly/yearly/bi-weekly images as well and use that a higher-level container for the entries under that time period, I'm still really proud of this project! It was a struggle to get it to host on my server since there happen to be a lot of network restrictions with my domain provider but I'm glad it's up and running! I hope you have fun while you're here! :)
